Sample Store - Giftopia @ Raffles City

Last weekend, Sample Store successfully organised a wonderful event, Giftopia, at Raffles City. For those who are wondering what is Giftopia about, it is a movement to encourage and embrace the spirit of giving. A way of helping people to reconnect with their loved ones and spread the love to everyone around you.
The event was on a much bigger scale that I expected and it was certainly an event great for friends and family to gather, shop and catch up with one another.
Bumped into Yvonne on my way there so we decided to browse the booths together :)
It was a last minute decision to attend so I went there on my own but I managed to see many familiar faces there and it was a good opportunity to catch up with some of them. Thanks Yvonne for accompanying me that day too!

Here are some of the brands that I like:
Que Origin, a brand that redefines, rediscover and reconnect with nature. Their range of products from shower gel to scrub only uses natural ingredients such as essential oils, aloe vera, fruit extracts and more. No need to worry about harsh ingredients damaging your skin, their products exclude sulfates, alcohol, mineral oils and harmful preservatives! Pamper and reward your skin with only the best.
Plus, they provide customizable bottles where logos and pictures can be added for a small fee. What a great gift idea!
Cathy Doll, Reun Rom
Next up, Karmart, Thailand's top beauty brand! I have long heard of their products, especially Cathy Doll range where their packaging is too adorable to resist. Cathy Doll products are made in Korea too, probably the reason why their packaging is bright and cheery.

There are also Reun Rom products featured at the booth, as seen on the left side of the image. These are spa quality soaps in a number of flavours such as Lemongrass & Lime, Pineapple & AHA and much more. I didn't manage to take many pictures of their products but I do own some products from Karmart so I will probably blog about them in a separate post? :)

By the way, Karmart will be having sales on 30th October, 1pm-7pm at Lucky Plaza, #06-48B (Beside Jollibee). So if you missed them at Giftopia, don't forget to mark this date and grab all the deals on 30th October!
BeautyKeeper, a brand founded to bring innovative, novel and award-winning Taiwanese beauty products to all. I admit I'm not exactly familiar with Taiwanese brands but I am curious to learn more about them. Hope to try/see more Taiwanese brands in future.
Thanks, BeautyKeeper for such a generous box of goodies with all the popular products to try! Stay tuned for that!
Thanks, Sample Store for the invite! :)
Oh and one last thing, Sample Store just revamped their site! The layout is straightforward and easier to navigate, same applies for their mobile site as well. So if you haven't signed up, do register for an account here and start getting samples to try before committing to a full-size purchase :)

Review: Owndays PC (Blue Shield) Lenses

A few months ago, I posted a guide & review on Owndays Singapore and mentioned that I would like to get PC lenses with them as well as do a pair of eye glasses in Korea/Japan and I did both! Now I have 3 pairs of spectacles which is alittle too much. Oh well, at least I don't have to worry about not being able to see if I were to lose one pair of spectacles!  Today I'll be reviewing on their PC aka blue shield lenses. They seemed to be emphasizing more on this type of lens lately and I didn't find a review on this so I decided to be the first to start. Owndays PC lenses come with a slight tinted brown colour and blue coating. The purpose of these lenses is to cut down a certain amount of blue light that is being emitted from electronic devices such as computer, mobile phones, TV, etc.  (Picture credited to Owndays Singapore)
You might be wondering, what is blue light and why do we emphasis so much on it now? Blue light is a type of light that is blue in colour(like duh.…

Review & Guide: Owndays Singapore

If you've been to Korea or Japan, you might have heard of getting a pair of spectacles done within the same day or even within minutes! Based on reviews I found online and through friends, it can cost less than $100 for a pair and I have been tempted to get mine done there ever since.

Earlier last year, Owndays decided to expand and opened its first shop in Singapore. To many, it was a relatively new concept to get spectacles within the same day but to me, it's like finally, I have a chance to experience it without having to travel!

A basic introduction to those who are not familiar with the store. Owndays is a brand from Japan that offers all-in-one price (frame + 1.6 high index aspheric lenses) at $98-$198. With 1,500 styles to choose from and processing time of 20 minutes, you can not only find a pair of spectacles to correct your vision but also change them according to different occasions.

I love their open concept. Unlike most optical…
