MatchMove Wallet

Are you an online shopaholic? With advances in technology and the ease of shopping online made so much easier, convenient and available 24 hours for 365 days a year, how can anyone not be tempted to buy something online?

I'm one of those shopaholics, mainly online than at brick and mortar stores. Why? Simply because I enjoy shopping at the comfort of my home at any time of the day without any restrictions and being able to buy from anywhere that is connected to the Internet and owns an e-business!
Alright, maybe not all of you shop online despite the benefits of being convenient, I know many have their concerns with privacy issues and payments, such as credit card details or bank account being exposed to sites that might misuse them. Wondering if there will ever be a solution to this?
Introducing MatchMove Wallet, a new initiative by MatchMove Global, a leading online entertainment company, to provide safe, easy and fast online transactions that consumers can benefit from and enjoy a better online shopping experience.

Just a short introduction about MatchMove Global for those who are unfamiliar about this brand, it was established in 2009 and since then MatchMove has been awarded the Red Herring Top 100 Asia, Red Herring 100 Global (2012) and Marketing Excellence Awards (2013). MatchMove was also ranked the fastest-growing technology company in Southeast Asia in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific last year. Impressive isn't it?

MatchMove Wallet is a globally recognized mobile e-wallet with a widely accepted virtual card that will soon be the first of many innovative e-commerce products and services. Starting with Singapore, it will then be launched in other countries namely Vietnam, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia! One of the reasons MatchMove Wallet appealed to me in addition to providing security to online payments, is that they also look into helping many users who are interested to shop online but do not qualify for or access to credit cards.

Let's see how it works!
The application process is relatively easy and straightforward as seen in the first 2 images. You have to be at least 18 years old to sign up for an account, otherwise you could ask your parents to sign up one then you can share the account with them by having different cards, I will explain this further in the later part of the post :)

You will receive a verification code to your mobile number in order to activate the account and this mobile number will be used to verify purchases made through your virtual card too. An additional step to ensure that the payment has been authorized by you.
Once you have verified your mobile number, you will be lead to this page where you can get your virtual card with a single click. No guarantor or minimum income needed.
You will receive an American Express© virtual card as this is powered & certified by American Express©. Knowing that this has been certified by American Express© just makes it even more secured than it already is. Don't you think so too? MatchMove Wallet has also been awarded PCI-DSS 2.0 certification, which is a standard that is awarded to financial organisations that are compliant with network data storage and security policies of banking grade.

As this is a pre-paid e-wallet, you can top up your card as and when you like. A way for you to manage & control your spending and another way for parents to monitor their children's spending while teaching them about financial management.
Before I start my shopping, I have to top up my card first and there are many ways to do it! There are no hidden charges, all of the charges are clearly shown. For all top ups, there will be a minimal charge by the provider. I chose to top up by Visa as it is done almost instantly so I can start my shopping immediately ;)
Once you've selected the top up method, you can choose the amount you wish to top up and the final amount will be indicated at the right hand side before you are prompted to key in your card details. An email of payment confirmation will also be sent.

Everything as straightforward as you see in these images and fast to complete!
My card balance is instantly updated after my payment and now I can use the amount to shop! Unlike most credit cards where the CSC code is fixed, this virtual card has dynamic CSC code that will be generated for each transaction and is valid only for 10 minutes. Another innovative security measure that I like! :)
All transactions made through this virtual card will be recorded and detailed up to 90 days. A good way for parents to monitor their children's spending too!

And obviously my transaction for ASOS didn't go through because they are starting to charge an amount for shipping fees, which sucks :( But you get my point that all transactions will be recorded and you can't overspend since it's a prepaid card which is good for shopaholics like me!

For parents who want to get a card for their children to use for online purchases from online bookstores, iTunes, etc, you can get up to 5 cards for your family. This is a much safer and better than using a conventional credit card as MatchMove Wallet shields all details and keep the sources of funds confidential, all spending habits will be kept private. No more revealing of such details to online merchants.

After trying MatchMove Wallet, I have to say I love having this e-Wallet for a couple of reasons. There is no physical card so I don't have to worry about losing the card or look around for it before I can complete my online transaction. All of this can be done with a click of a button and the approval process together with the topping up of virtual card is fuss-free and easy to complete. Furthermore, the dynamic CSC code and one-time pin authentication for each transaction adds on to the security and puts my mind at ease that all transactions will only go through if these steps are followed. No worries on the information on sources of funds being available to online merchants which keeps my spending habits private. It all works just like a credit card but without headaches on hidden charges/overspending bills or having to go through long approval processes with minimum income required. The availability of transaction details online further helps with financial management too!

I think the only disadvantage would be only American Express is available as the virtual card which means you can only buy from merchants that accepts that mode of payment. Hopefully there will be other cards available in further or more merchants would work with MatchMove! ;)

Last but not least, like most credit cards, this virtual card will have an annual fee but if you are the first 1000 new users to sign up now, you can get the first year's fees waived and enjoy all these benefits instantly! Why wait? Join me on MatchMove Wallet and start safe online shopping today!

Review: Owndays PC (Blue Shield) Lenses

A few months ago, I posted a guide & review on Owndays Singapore and mentioned that I would like to get PC lenses with them as well as do a pair of eye glasses in Korea/Japan and I did both! Now I have 3 pairs of spectacles which is alittle too much. Oh well, at least I don't have to worry about not being able to see if I were to lose one pair of spectacles!  Today I'll be reviewing on their PC aka blue shield lenses. They seemed to be emphasizing more on this type of lens lately and I didn't find a review on this so I decided to be the first to start. Owndays PC lenses come with a slight tinted brown colour and blue coating. The purpose of these lenses is to cut down a certain amount of blue light that is being emitted from electronic devices such as computer, mobile phones, TV, etc.  (Picture credited to Owndays Singapore)
You might be wondering, what is blue light and why do we emphasis so much on it now? Blue light is a type of light that is blue in colour(like duh.…

Review & Guide: Owndays Singapore

If you've been to Korea or Japan, you might have heard of getting a pair of spectacles done within the same day or even within minutes! Based on reviews I found online and through friends, it can cost less than $100 for a pair and I have been tempted to get mine done there ever since.

Earlier last year, Owndays decided to expand and opened its first shop in Singapore. To many, it was a relatively new concept to get spectacles within the same day but to me, it's like finally, I have a chance to experience it without having to travel!

A basic introduction to those who are not familiar with the store. Owndays is a brand from Japan that offers all-in-one price (frame + 1.6 high index aspheric lenses) at $98-$198. With 1,500 styles to choose from and processing time of 20 minutes, you can not only find a pair of spectacles to correct your vision but also change them according to different occasions.

I love their open concept. Unlike most optical…

Guide to KORAIL's O Train & V Train

Sightseeing trains are gaining popularity in Korea and it is one of the things you have to try when you're there! Today I'll be sharing on O Train & V Train which started its operations sightly more than a year ago on April 2013. These trains journey through Korea's inland valleys with the O-train looping around the central inland region, running through the provinces of Chungcheongbuk-do, Gangwon-do, and Gyeongsangbuk-do. While the V-train, connecting Buncheon in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and Cheolam in Gangwon-do Province, runs through scenic valleys. Detailed information on these trains can be found on VisitKorea.

I realized there is a lack of information on the site as to how you can purchase the tickets online or offline and how to best plan the route if you would like to take both trains plus return to Seoul on the same day. So here's a simple post on how I purchased my tickets on the spot and the mistake I made(and you can avoid if you read this post), but …
